What was supposed to be a relaxing international flight turned into a midair nightmare after an alleged drunken meltdown forced an emergency landing — and passengers say it all started with a bottle of vodka.
The chaos erupted on an easyJet flight headed from London Gatwick to Antalya, Turkey, when a woman, believed to be British, reportedly began drinking straight from a vodka bottle before things quickly spiraled out of control.
Witnesses say the woman suddenly lunged across the aisle, trying to hit another passenger — and even allegedly spat in their face during the heated confrontation.
Shocking video taken by someone onboard shows the moment tensions exploded, with a flight attendant rushing in to try and calm things down. But the situation only got worse.
Two male passengers jumped into the altercation, turning the incident into a full-blown brawl as stunned families watched from their seats.
“I heard screaming and chaos,” one witness said. “They were yelling, swearing — it was honestly wild. People were scared, and we all felt bad for the crew trying to handle it.”
With the situation escalating, the pilots made the call to divert the flight — landing more than 600 miles off course in Kosovo.
Once the plane touched down at Pristina International Airport, police boarded and escorted two passengers — a man and a woman — off the aircraft while others looked on in disbelief.
In another clip, a male passenger can be seen angrily confronting someone who had reported the behavior, adding even more tension to an already chaotic situation.
The flight eventually continued on to Turkey, arriving about three hours late.
easyJet later released a statement making it clear they don’t tolerate disruptive passengers, emphasizing that safety is always their top priority.
The incident comes as airlines continue to crack down on bad behavior in the skies, with some pushing for tighter restrictions on alcohol. Ryanair’s CEO has even suggested limiting passengers to two drinks at airport bars to help prevent situations like this.
For the people on board, though, the experience was anything but routine — turning a simple flight into something they won’t forget anytime soon.

Isn’t it interesting how these airline meltdowns never happened before 1990 or so! People have always consumed alcohol before/during flights, so that can’t account for this bizarre behavior. Seems to occur with post-Boomer generations.🤔
