A disturbing attack outside one of America’s most infamous McDonald’s locations has sparked outrage after two men were caught on camera brutally beating a 77-year-old man in downtown Seattle.

The violent assault happened around 10 p.m. on April 19 outside the notorious McDonald’s location nicknamed “McStabby’s” by locals because of the constant crime, drug activity, and violence surrounding the restaurant.

According to reports, surveillance video showed two men standing outside the fast-food restaurant when the elderly victim slowly walked toward them along the sidewalk.

Without warning, one of the suspects allegedly punched the man in the head.

Moments later, the second suspect shoved the frail victim from behind, sending him crashing onto the pavement.

Even after the elderly man hit the ground, the attack reportedly continued, with one suspect repeatedly beating him before casually walking away.

The victim suffered devastating injuries during the assault.

According to Fox 13, the 77-year-old man was hospitalized for more than a week with a broken knee, a broken arm, and a deep cut above his right eye that required stitches.

Police later arrested Ahmed Abdullahi Osman, 29, near the scene while he was reportedly talking on the phone outside the restaurant.

Authorities charged Osman with second-degree assault.

But in a development that shocked many residents, reports say Osman was later released before a bail hearing while police continued investigating the case.

An arrest warrant has since been issued after he allegedly disappeared, and authorities say he is now on the run.

Investigators are also still searching for the second suspect involved in the attack.

Court records show Osman already had a lengthy criminal history before the assault.

According to reports, he previously faced misdemeanor convictions involving harassment, assault, and criminal trespassing dating back to 2021.

He also reportedly has several pending criminal cases this year involving assault, trespassing, theft, and tampering with fire equipment.

Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Ryan Turner described the attack as an example of someone posing a major threat to public safety.

“The defendant’s decision to assault and recklessly inflict substantial bodily harm on a random elderly man who was just walking down the sidewalk minding his own business demonstrates the defendant is a substantial danger to the community,” Turner reportedly wrote in charging documents.

During his arrest, Osman allegedly made bizarre statements to officers, reportedly claiming his sister was “the senator of Minnesota” and saying he knew Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson.

The brutal assault has once again drawn attention to the dangerous conditions surrounding the downtown Seattle McDonald’s, which has become infamous for crime and drug activity along the stretch of 3rd Avenue known locally as “The Blade.”

The restaurant permanently shut down its indoor dining room years ago because of repeated violence and safety concerns.

Customers now order food through a small reinforced service hatch covered in plexiglass while the restaurant doors remain boarded up with plywood to protect against vandalism.

Residents say the area becomes especially dangerous after dark.

“They do drugs and attack each other,” one local resident previously told reporters while describing the neighborhood.

The same McDonald’s was also the site of a horrific 2020 mass shooting that left one woman dead and seven other people injured, including a 9-year-old boy.

That deadly shooting reportedly played a major role in the restaurant’s decision to permanently close its dining area.

Today, the area surrounding the restaurant remains filled with open drug use, homeless encampments, and frequent violent incidents just blocks away from Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market and the original Starbucks location.
