A Lifetime movie actress claims a terrifying encounter at a California dog park left her permanently scarred and struggling to find acting work after she was bitten in the face while desperately trying to protect her beloved French bulldog.
Natasha Wilson, known for her roles in The Best Version of Love and Single and Ready to Jingle, has filed a lawsuit alleging that another dog attacked her at West Hollywood Dog Park in Los Angeles County, leaving her with a painful facial injury that has affected both her appearance and her career.
The frightening incident allegedly unfolded around 9:40 p.m. on November 7, 2024, when Wilson was walking her French bulldog and encountered a man named Gregory Marcel and his dog, Scruffy.
According to the lawsuit, Scruffy approached Wilson’s smaller dog and stood over it in what she described as an aggressive and dominant posture.
Concerned for her pet’s safety, Wilson immediately scooped up her bulldog in an attempt to protect it. But the situation allegedly escalated when Scruffy jumped on her, causing her to lose her grip on the frightened animal.
Wilson claims she fell to the ground and desperately tried to shield her dog with her body and hands as the encounter continued.
“Scruffy continued to attack, while Wilson was on the ground attempting to shield her dog with her body and hands,” the lawsuit states.
During the struggle, the dog allegedly bit Wilson directly above her right eyebrow, leaving her with a bleeding facial wound.
Marcel accompanied the actress to the emergency room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where doctors treated her injury with stitches and prescribed antibiotics.
But according to Wilson, the consequences have lasted far longer than the initial emergency.
The actress claims the bite left her with a permanent, visible and painful scar above her right eye, along with changes to the appearance and hair growth pattern of her eyebrow. She also alleges that the injury has impaired movement in her right brow.
Doctors have reportedly advised Wilson that she will need scar revision surgery and additional medical treatment to address the lasting damage.
For someone whose career depends heavily on appearing in front of cameras, Wilson says the impact has been devastating.
The lawsuit alleges that her injuries have interfered with her ability to work, resulting in lost acting opportunities and a significant reduction in her earning potential.
“Wilson was prevented from attending her usual occupation and thereby sustained a loss of earnings and an impairment of her earning capacity,” the complaint states.
Wilson has spent years building a career in television and film, appearing in several Lifetime productions as well as the drama series UnREAL. Her credits also include Trust in Love, released in 2024.
Now, she alleges that a night at the dog park has left her facing not only ongoing medical concerns but also serious financial consequences.
The actress is seeking compensation from Marcel for medical expenses, lost wages and diminished future earning capacity. The publicly reported details do not establish a specific amount of damages being requested.
The case also highlights the potential dangers of encounters between unfamiliar dogs, especially when a larger animal approaches a much smaller pet. Such situations can escalate quickly, putting both animals and their owners at risk.
Representatives for Wilson and Marcel had not publicly responded to requests for additional comment as of the latest reporting.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and no finding of liability against Marcel has been announced.
