The well-known music tycoon Sean “Diddy” Combs is driving a campaign to support the Black currency by founding a brand-new online market place called Empower Global. The e-commerce site, which just went live, seeks to highlight only Black-owned companies and generate significant wealth for the Black community.

Combs imagines Empower Global as the contemporary equivalent of the thriving Black-owned business district known as Greenwood, which was once located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1921, a white mob attacked Greenwood for two days and tragically destroyed it. Combs wants to recreate the community’s historical success by creating an ecosystem and infrastructure that can support Black entrepreneurs and promote economic growth.

Combs highlights that he put $20 million of his own money into the project because he wants to provide Black entrepreneurs a platform to market and sell their goods rather than do it for his own financial advantage.

Empower Global is a carefully curated marketplace with a variety of Black-owned products for clothes, accessories for the body, skincare, fragrances, and even wall art. TechSparq and ChatDesk, two Black-owned businesses, created the platform. Empower Global launched with 70 brands and announced weekly introductions of new Black-owned companies. By the end of the year, Combs hopes to have expanded the platform to feature more than 200 businesses.

Combs highlighted his enthusiasm for Empower Global, saying that he feels more enthused about this project than he did when he first introduced his hugely successful record label, Bad Boy Records. He views the forum as a chance to promote inclusivity and industry diversity. Combs contends that for Black people to remain united and to build their economic power, they must exchange money inside their own community.

“Our dollar doesn’t even last an hour in the Black community. The majority of different cultures and ethnicities are aware of the strength of unity. Their money circulates around others who are similar to them and who are also from their communities for days on end, according to Combs. Combs’s goal has changed from achieving enormous success in the music industry to inspiring others. He has established a significant empire. He has started Revolt TV, a music-focused network, and developed his own vodka brand in addition to his endeavors in music and fashion.

Combs is still committed to advancing Black economic unification through Empower Global and having a substantial influence. “The potential of demonstrating Black economic solidarity excites me greatly.

Combs declared, “I’m not going to stop until I’m working with the best Black-owned digital mainstream brands so we can start igniting our own economic system. Sean “Diddy” Combs wants to promote economic growth, promote unity, and provide a platform that amplifies the voices of Black-owned businesses on a worldwide scale through his unwavering commitment to the empowerment of Black entrepreneurs.
