Known for his unique demeanor and wide range of roles, actor Gary Busey is embroiled in yet another court dispute.
Recently, a woman claimed that the 79-year-old celebrity had rear-ended her vehicle in Malibu and then made an attempt to flee the scene. Busey’s recent legal troubles have been made worse by the event, which was caught on camera and attracted attention from the public.
The Tale of the Hit-and-Run
The hit-and-run event reportedly happened as the woman was traveling down Malibu’s coast. Busey is accused of leaving a mall suddenly, crashing her car into the back of it, and then taking off.
Determined to take action, the woman started to drive after Busey, blaring her horn and ordering him to stop and give up his details. Her phone captured a video in which she is heard saying, “Sir, you hit my car.” I require your details.”
The chase proceeded along the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), and at a parking lot outside of Aviator Nation Dreamland, the woman eventually caught up to Busey. It was determined that Busey was the driver of a blue Volvo sedan, and there were marks on both cars that suggested an accident had happened.
Busey hesitated to divulge his information in spite of the proof, saying, “I’m private.” All the information he provided was that Progressive is his insurance provider. After that, Busey left the area.
Investigation and Involvement of Law Enforcement
The woman filed a hit-and-run report after the altercation, which prompted police to look into her allegations. It is anticipated that as part of the inquiry, detectives would look into the occurrence and collect evidence.
Busey’s Persistent Legal Issues
This most recent incident is only one more in Gary Busey’s string of legal issues from recent months. He was accused with three offenses in August 2022 in connection with accusations that were made during the Monster-Mania convention in New Jersey.
Two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, one offense of fourth-degree criminal attempt and criminal sexual contact, and one count of harassment were included in the charges. Busey has continuously refuted any misconduct in this case and claimed that the accusations were made up.
Busey’s legal issues are still being resolved, and the hit-and-run he was involved in recently will probably make his actions and legal situation even more scrutinized.
