The daredevil actor is engineering a thrilling stunt that is to center around him rappelling down from the Stade de France’s top to the stadium field and carrying the official Olympic Flag, sources told TMZ. Cruise fans can rest assured that the famous actor has another trick up his sleeve. Cruise’s latest adventure will also include a unique approach to the passing of the flag.
Sources with direct knowledge told TMZ that after he rappels, the plan is for a television broadcast to cut to a previously recorded film clip that will feature two-minutes worth of footage of Cruise’s passage on an airplane, as he flies the Olympic flag from Paris to Los Angeles. The cameras will reportedly continue to roll as he skydives to where the Hollywood sign is.
The insider said the portion of the stunt that shows Cruise at the Hollywood sign was in fact carried out early on a Saturday in March, in preparation for this monumental moment in Olympic history, according to TMZ.
Those involved in the project told the outlet they assumed someone would have noticed this epic stunt as it was unfolding, and would leak it online or to the press. Surprisingly, they reportedly said there has not been any footage that has been publicly shared, so Cruise has a real shot to impress.
