Beyoncé had a terrifying close call onstage during her Cowboy Carter tour stop in Texas when a stage mishap left her dangling high above the crowd in a suspended Cadillac. The incident happened mid-performance of her emotional track 16 Carriages, and the scene quickly turned from theatrical to dangerous.
As part of her show’s dramatic finale, Beyoncé is lifted above the audience in a vintage car rigged with wires. But during this particular performance, the wires began tilting the car sharply to one side—nearly tossing the superstar out in front of a packed stadium. Fans could be heard gasping as she urgently called out, “Stop, stop, stop, stop,” directing stagehands and producers from midair.
Video of the scary moment has since gone viral, with one fan writing on X (formerly Twitter), “That looked so scary! And she was so damn calm. I would have lost my mind in there. Just imagine her kids and family watching her like that 😩😩.”
Despite the heart-pounding moment, Beyoncé stayed composed. Crew members were able to safely lower the tilted car into the crowd. She briefly exited backstage before returning to thunderous applause and finishing the show like the true pro she is.
She didn’t let the moment go unaddressed. Standing tall onstage afterward, she told the audience, “I want to thank y’all for loving me. If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me.”
Fans are still buzzing about the incident—and praising Queen Bey for keeping her cool in a moment that could’ve ended very differently.
