Simon Cowell’s inner circle is reportedly urging him to stop undergoing cosmetic treatments, fearing years of surgery and injectables have drastically altered his appearance.
The 66-year-old America’s Got Talent judge recently sparked a wave of concern after appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where fans were stunned by his noticeably different look. The clip went viral online, with some viewers even suggesting the footage looked “AI-generated.”
According to sources close to Cowell, friends who have known him for years are deeply worried. “His appearance keeps shifting – it’s puffy and stiff, nothing like the Simon they remember,” one insider said. “They’ve been begging him to stop before he does something he can’t undo.”
Cowell has long been open about dabbling in cosmetic work. He previously admitted to using Botox and joked about once going “a bit too far,” saying he ended up looking “like something out of a horror film.” Despite acknowledging his past overuse, insiders claim he has continued to rely on treatments to maintain a youthful look.
“Simon insists it’s just minor upkeep, but that’s hard to believe now,” another source shared. “Every time he’s on screen, his face looks different. The issue is, people around him keep telling him he looks great, which only encourages him to keep going.”
Cowell, who suffered a serious back injury in a 2020 e-bike accident, has spoken about how his recovery affected his self-image. Friends say that experience, combined with his return to the spotlight for his new Netflix show Simon Cowell: The Next Act, has intensified his fixation on appearance.
“He’s terrified of becoming irrelevant,” a close friend revealed. “For Simon, being on TV means looking flawless. But fans miss the real Simon – the sharp, confident one with personality, not the overly polished version.”
Another insider added, “He used to be effortlessly suave — that tanned, confident guy everyone called ‘sexy Simon.’ Now, he reportedly cringes when he sees himself on camera. Aging has been tough for him to accept.”
Those close to Cowell have allegedly warned him that his face is starting to look “unnatural” and “almost wax-like.” Some even fear the changes could become permanent if he continues with more work.
“Simon’s always been driven by control — of his work, his image, his legacy,” a friend said. “But the irony is, people love him for his authenticity, not his appearance. If he embraced aging, fans would respect him even more. Instead, there’s a real worry he’s turning himself into a parody when he should be celebrated as an icon.”
