Zachery Ty Bryan, best known for his role on Home Improvement, is back in the headlines—and unfortunately, it’s for all the wrong reasons. The actor and his girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, were arrested over the weekend in Eugene, Oregon, according to TMZ.
Bryan was taken into custody on Saturday for a probation violation tied to his previous domestic violence conviction. Online records show he was denied bail and will remain in jail until Wednesday, December 3. He is still serving a three-year probation sentence from 2023, which is set to last until October 2026.
Cartwright was also arrested and booked into the same jail. She faces multiple charges, including DUII, three counts of reckless endangerment, and attempted first-degree assault. She is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
This isn’t Bryan’s first run-in with the law in Oregon. His legal troubles date back to 2020, when he and Cartwright were involved in a drunken dispute. He faced multiple charges in that case but was ultimately convicted of menacing—and remained on probation when the recent arrest occurred.
Since then, Bryan has accumulated additional arrests, including a DUII in Oklahoma and another incident in South Carolina, where he was accused of assaulting and strangling Cartwright. Just last week, Bryan told media outlets he is on a “journey toward personal growth” and taking accountability for past violent behavior.
Adding to his legal woes, a woman recently obtained a five-year restraining order against him, claiming he physically and verbally abused her in July. No criminal charges have been filed in that case yet, but it adds to a troubling pattern of behavior.

Is it just ME, or does the acting profession attract the really UNSTABLE people who can only function in the world of Make-Believe ?
Or is it only the LUNATICS that attract the wrong attention that we hear of ?
