The workout grind has taken on a whole new meaning for Jerry Seinfeld.
Sources say the 71-year-old comedy legend has been hitting the gym daily and overhauling his diet amid growing fears about his long-term health, driven mostly by worries about dementia and other age-related diseases.
An insider explains that Seinfeld’s intense fitness routine isn’t just about staying camera-ready or keeping up his sharp stage presence.
“Jerry’s in the gym every single day and pushing himself harder than ever,” the source said. “Yes, he wants to keep performing live for as long as he can, and that takes real stamina. But this goes much deeper than that.”
According to the insider, Seinfeld is motivated by a deep fear of serious illnesses, including dementia, cancer, osteoporosis, and Parkinson’s disease.
“He’s seen too many people he admired get taken down by those conditions,” the source explained. “He doesn’t want to leave his health to chance. He wants to be around for his wife and kids for as long as possible.”
Speculation about Seinfeld’s health flared last year after viewers noticed he appeared shaky and slightly off-balance during a television interview. Some fans even questioned whether he might be showing early signs of Parkinson’s, pointing to a trembling hand and subtle head movements.
Those close to Seinfeld insist he brushed off the rumors and reassured loved ones that he’s fine.
Behind the scenes, his wife, Jessica Seinfeld, is said to be playing a major role in keeping him on track, particularly when it comes to nutrition. The couple share three children: daughter Sascha, 25, and sons Julian, 22, and Shepherd, 20.
“Jessica is completely on top of his diet,” the insider said. “She prides herself on being a great cook and making sure he’s eating right. But the workouts? That’s all Jerry.”
The source added that Seinfeld has become almost obsessed with staying fit.
“This has turned into a full-blown mission for him,” the insider said. “He treats it like one of his passions, right up there with his exotic car collection. He’s up at the crack of dawn for brutal workouts and finishes before Jessica even has breakfast ready.”
