NFL Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw is facing renewed criticism from fans after an awkward on-air moment during FOX’s coverage of the final week of the regular season, when he admitted live on television that he had “never heard” of Green Bay Packers quarterback Clayton Tune.

The moment happened Sunday as analysts discussed the Packers’ Week 18 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. With starting quarterback Jordan Love sidelined and backup Malik Willis inactive, Green Bay turned to Tune for his first start with the team — a scenario that appeared to catch Bradshaw off guard.

While breaking down the situation, Bradshaw initially misstated the depth chart.

“Jordan Love is coming out of concussion protocol, could play if they were in the playoffs today, but they’re going to rest him,” he said. “His backup is a guy by the name of Love…”

Bradshaw then corrected himself, adding, “Tune, Tune from the University of Houston. Fifth rounder. I’ve never heard of him.”

When a colleague pointed out that Tune was actually the team’s third-string quarterback, Bradshaw responded, “Is he? I don’t know what he is. We’ll find out today.”

The exchange quickly spread across social media, where many viewers questioned Bradshaw’s preparation and awareness. Some fans argued the moment reflected a larger pattern of on-air mistakes this season and renewed calls for FOX to consider moving on from the longtime analyst.

The criticism follows other recent slip-ups, including moments earlier in the season when Bradshaw drifted off-topic during preview segments and struggled to correctly say the name of Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba before being corrected by fellow panelists.

Bradshaw has been a fixture on FOX NFL Sunday since 1994, joining the broadcast team after a storied playing career in which he led the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Super Bowl championships during the 1970s. His humor and personality have long been credited with helping make the show one of the most recognizable studio programs in American sports television.

Despite the backlash, FOX has not publicly addressed the latest criticism, and Bradshaw remains a central figure on the network’s NFL coverage.

As for Tune, his first start with Green Bay proved difficult. The Packers struggled offensively in Minnesota, managing just three points. Tune finished the game with 34 passing yards and was sacked four times as Green Bay closed out a disappointing regular-season finale.

  1. I would love to see the complainers try to do any better. They just lay at home and wait for something to happen they disagree with, so they can complain. As if they could do better. It is laughable.

  2. No matter how anemic the Packers are doing, they ALWAYS seem to come alive against “Da Bears”!
Bears vs: Packers IS the DNA of the NFL.
And Bradshaw is possibly losing a little, he’s an old man that never entered the “Concussion Protocol” that protects players now. Bradshaw had his chimes rang a LOT during his playing years !
Not an apology for him, just fact.
