Sean Swayze, the younger brother of late Hollywood icon Patrick Swayze, has died at the age of 63, marking another heartbreaking loss for the famous Swayze family.
Sean’s death was first reported by TMZ, with his son Jesse Swayze later confirming that his father passed away on Dec. 15, 2025, in Los Angeles. While Sean largely stayed out of the spotlight compared to his superstar brother, he remained a beloved figure to those who knew him personally.
Patrick Swayze, best known for his unforgettable role in Dirty Dancing, died in 2009 at the age of 57 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Sean was one of Patrick’s younger siblings and remained close to his family over the years.
According to a death certificate, Sean died from an upper gastrointestinal bleed. The document lists the cause as severe metabolic acidosis, esophageal varices, and alcoholic liver cirrhosis.
Sean is survived by his three children — sons Jesse and Kyle, and daughter Cassie — as well as his older brother Don Swayze, who has also appeared in numerous film and television roles over the years.
Following the news of Sean’s passing, a cousin of the Swayze family shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, remembering him as someone full of life and joy.
“He was always fun and full of life,” the post read. “We are praying hard for the entire family during this difficult time. Please know that we love you and are always here for you. Sean, I love you so much, and we will miss you dearly.”
