Kodak Black is facing serious legal trouble after Florida police allegedly found MDMA, cash, and other suspicious items tied to the rapper during an investigation that eventually led to his arrest this week.

The rapper, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was arrested Wednesday in Orlando on a felony drug trafficking charge after authorities say they uncovered evidence during a 2025 investigation connected to a traffic stop and reports of gunfire.

According to an arrest affidavit, Orlando police allegedly discovered a pink bag inside a vehicle during the November incident.

Investigators claim the bag contained MDMA, a bottle of cough syrup, and approximately $37,000 in cash.

Police also reportedly found “numerous documents” bearing Kodak Black’s legal name inside the bag.

Authorities say the pink bag appeared to match one the rapper had shown off in Instagram photos just days earlier.

Investigators also claimed they found a distinctive gun-shaped lighter inside the bag that they say was also visible in Kodak Black’s social media posts.

According to police, nobody at the scene admitted ownership of the bag or the drugs.

However, investigators claim Kodak Black allegedly attempted to persuade officers to return the cash found inside the vehicle.

Officers also reportedly recovered a firearm from the backseat of the car, though police say nobody at the scene claimed ownership of the weapon either.

Kodak Black was not arrested immediately after the November incident.

Authorities say the case escalated last month after crime lab testing allegedly confirmed the MDMA weighed 25.34 grams — significantly higher than Florida’s 14-gram threshold for a trafficking charge.

After receiving the lab results, investigators requested an arrest warrant.

Police say the rapper later turned himself in during what was described as a coordinated surrender Wednesday.

Kodak Black’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, has already pushed back against the allegations.

According to reports, Cohen argued there is a “weak legal basis” for the trafficking charge and said the rapper plans to aggressively fight the case in court.

The latest arrest adds to Kodak Black’s long history of legal problems, including previous arrests involving drugs, weapons, probation violations, and federal charges.
