Caitlin Clark’s college basketball career is over.
The Iowa Hawkeyes fell to the South Carolina Gamecocks in the national championship game on Sunday afternoon. Iowa led early against undefeated South Carolina, though the Gamecocks simply had too much firepower down the stretch.
Clark checked out of the game to roaring applause with a couple of seconds left in the fourth quarter.
The National Player of the Year embraced everyone on the bench. She’s now off to the WNBA.

Clark and the Hawkeyes have now lost in the national title game in back-to-back seasons. Iowa fell to LSU in the national title game last season, while South Carolina got the best of the Hawkeyes on Sunday afternoon.
Still, it’s been an incredible career for Clark, who won multiple National Player of the Year awards and starred in multiple deep NCAA Tournament runs.
The longtime Iowa Hawkeyes star will now be the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft later this month.

She’s overrated. If it weren’t for the refs fouling every defender who came near her her numbers wouldn’t be near as good. And, she has absolute horrible sportsmanship. Even her own dad yells at her to shut up.
