Stanislav Yanevski, best known for playing Durmstrang champion Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, is opening up about a recent health scare that landed him in the hospital just after his 40th birthday.
In a candid Instagram post shared with fans, the Bulgarian actor revealed he had been hospitalized due to a sudden inability to breathe. The incident happened shortly after his birthday on May 16, prompting urgent medical attention. Yanevski ultimately underwent surgery on his nose, although he has not disclosed the precise diagnosis behind the breathing issues.
“I went through this in silence as I didn’t want to scare or worry anybody,” the Hostel: Part II actor wrote, sharing a post-op selfie from his hospital bed.
Despite the frightening ordeal, Yanevski assured fans he’s on the mend and praised his recovery process, attributing it to “healthy diets, training… self-control and belief.” The actor expressed optimism about his progress, saying, “Things are looking great. I will be able to breathe freely, experience all the scents of life, which was something I had lost over the past months.”
He also shared that the surgery will help him sleep better and fully recharge, adding, “I will be able to sleep without struggles, recover properly with peaceful sleep and be at my full powers very soon.”
