It takes a special kind of performer to fall off stage and keep the show going, but Gavin Adcock proved he’s more than up to the challenge. During his Winnipeg concert, the country singer slipped mid-song and tumbled into the audience while performing “Deep End.”

Most performers might freeze, but not Adcock. Whiskey in hand, he kept singing like nothing happened, showing the crowd that not even a dramatic fall could slow him down.

The viral moment went down at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Manitoba. Fan-shot video shows the shirtless singer leaning into the crowd when he suddenly lost his footing and plunged off the stage. Despite the unexpected plunge, he didn’t miss a note. The crowd cheered, and while his cowboy hat went flying, his cool—and his whiskey—remained intact.

Adcock himself later commented on the clip, saying simply, “It happens.” Fans flooded the post with support, one writing, “And he was still rocking it out, what a legend,” and another adding, “Great recovery, didn’t miss a beat!”

Slips and stumbles onstage aren’t unheard of in country music. Last year, Luke Bryan tripped over a phone tossed onto the stage, and Darius Rucker took a tumble over a monitor in Charleston, joking, “We’ve been doing this all summer. I hadn’t fell once. But I busted my a* in my hometown.” Even Morgan Wallen took a spill in front of a sold-out crowd last July 4 but bounced back without missing a note.

Adcock has had a headline-filled year. Earlier, he addressed a confrontation with fellow country star Zach Bryan after footage surfaced of Bryan climbing a fence to face him at a festival. Adcock called Bryan “not a very good person” on Instagram, clarifying that Bryan had not been locked out and had been at the festival all day with security.

And just weeks before the Winnipeg tumble, Adcock went viral again when a fan jumped the stage during his Wichita, Kansas show. His security quickly stepped in, and he shared the clip with the caption, “What happens when you jump the barricade at a country music concert.”
