Drama erupted on the court Wednesday as a Utah Tech basketball player got brutally posterized … and then seemingly decided to get revenge with a punch.

The chaotic scene unfolded at the Leavey Center during the Utah Tech Trailblazers vs. Santa Clara Broncos game with just over a minute left. Santa Clara’s Allen Graves threw down a one-handed dunk right over Utah Tech’s Chase Trujillo, who had attempted—and failed—to block it.

Trujillo clearly wasn’t happy about being embarrassed on national highlight reels. As Graves celebrated, he bumped into Trujillo, who then threw a right-handed punch straight at Graves’ face.

The altercation could have escalated further when Graves’ teammate lunged at Trujillo, but another Broncos player stepped in to prevent the fight from getting out of hand. Trujillo calmly walked away, but both players were assessed technical fouls for the incident.

Utah Tech’s athletic department has not commented on Trujillo’s status, pending a response from the Western Athletic Conference. Any decision is expected before the Trailblazers’ next game on December 13.
