Actress Kristen Bell is discovering that sometimes too much honesty can backfire.

Sources say the actress is struggling after her trademark “open book” approach to marriage suddenly turned into a PR headache.

An insider told RadarOnline.com that what once made Bell so relatable—her therapy talks, candid confessions, and no-filter personality—has now left some people cringing. The controversy reportedly reached a tipping point with a recent anniversary post featuring a dark joke from her husband, Dax Shepard: “‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would.'”

The post, which went viral during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, sparked widespread backlash. Since then, Bell has been reportedly careful about what she shares online. A Hollywood PR executive said, “Everything’s rehearsed now. Every post, every word. She’s terrified of saying the wrong thing again.”

The controversy also drew attention to older clips of the couple, including moments where they discussed their parenting choices. In one clip, Bell admitted that they allow their young daughter to drink non-alcoholic beer, which left some fans raising eyebrows.
