Guy Moon, an Emmy-nominated music composer whose work shaped some of the most beloved animated shows of the past few decades, has died following a vehicle accident in California. He was 63.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Moon died Thursday after suffering traumatic injuries in a traffic collision in Los Angeles. His family confirmed the heartbreaking news in a Facebook post, sharing that they are navigating what they described as “insurmountable grief.”

Born in Wisconsin, Moon moved to California in 1986 with a clear dream: to write music for film and television. That dream turned into a prolific career that spanned decades and helped define the sound of children’s television for an entire generation.

Moon was best known for his work on The Fairly OddParents, where his music became an unmistakable part of the show’s identity. His contributions earned him four Emmy nominations, a rare achievement in the world of animated television music.

His resume didn’t stop there. Moon also composed music for Danny Phantom and T.U.F.F. Puppy, as well as Netflix’s Johnny Test, Cartoon Network’s Cow and Chicken, and Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush.

Beyond television, Moon also left his mark on film, composing music for projects like The Brady Bunch Movie, A Very Brady Sequel, and The Crash.
